I got my start with JD Sleds as the original owner of a 1983 Sportifre and introduced to this site when I resurrected my orignal sled in 2007. I picked up my 2nd 83 Sporty in a package deal essentially for $250. I went through the sled, cleaned tank, carb, new lines etc. and it rode like a champ for the first season. It ran so well, I was pumped to give this sled a face lift.
I started this project back in 2009, but life got in the way
Back in the swing this season and ready to ride. I like to ride my sleds and enjoy them. As you know, these puppies get dirty quickly. I'd rather have them ride like and 10 and look like an 8. This sled has a fresh motor with new pistons, rings, seals, gaskets, rebuilt carb. The skis are fresh with new shocks, wear bars, hardware and insulators. Clean tank, new lines, refurb exhaust, new seat and windshield. Rear suspension is solid and has new shock, 1 idler bearing and grease. Clutches were adjusted and sled will be fine tuned shortly.
