1980 liquifire help!

Hi, looking for help on motor boag. It starts fine runs fine but when stop and idle it has a major boag and if shut machine off it has hard time starting but only after motor is up to temp. Has any one elese had this problem and solved it and how?

Sounds to me like it could possibly be a bad needle and seat.

You want the idle close to 3K on the 80 Liquifires. What is your idle currently set at?

It may be loading up on fuel if its idling too long. A good carb cleaning may help as well...and check to see what jetting is being used. Also check the "E" clip on the needle.

If you dont have the manual Im sure someone on here can tell you the best jetting and carb settings to use...

I do have all the manuals and carbs are clean have right jetting for the year. Thinken of jetting for a newer model and advance the timing as for idle I am at 25k so will adjust that and see how that works.Thanks for info!

one other thing... does it smoke alot?

I've had the oil pump set to put extra oil in cause similar problems..

Just somthing else you can check.
