What was the hood on the original Deere sled with the twin headlights?

That clay JDX looks very similar to Skiroule RX.
just saying....
I was thinking that to it has the ahead of its time look with the running board and the hood sleeked back. And it's even a year or two before the skiroules looked like that.

Looks to be about 1/2 scale of a real sled, and notice the paper next to it.

Skiroules had the low sleek look in 71 with there RTX racer free airs! before the first production Deere was built ! 72 They were in production with all their models .. They even had IFS in 75' These being 6 IFS race sleds built ! Bob @ Image enterprises has one sitting in his show room !

Keith ...... to answer your question about the book. Yes there is a book that is just about done and publishers are being narrowed down at this time. Richard Teal
and Ron Lenard are working on it.

This 72 model has a parking brake ...... Ed might be able to say something about this :)

Is that the lever that appears to be aft of the handlebars? Looks like something borrowed from lawn tractors.

The rectangular headlight should have been production. Interesting grab handle and suspension wheel.

And to the left. I was speculating on how it worked and now it makes a lot more sense, but I would have caught that with a little more attention to detail originally. Perhaps I was too hung up on the black rear grab bar.

That headlight was production in '72, and the 400s had a black bar, 500s had chrome.

Hi Guys!! Would have commented sooner on the parking brake but had some problems with my cookies! Thanks Matt ..kept playing around and found the problem. Parking brake never made it past one test trip as picture showes testing in UP. If i recall lever went over center holding brake on. Don't remember ever testing a reverse setup. I think we looked at some competive sleds that had it.

Cool pic .... Thanks Ed.

This next picture looks to be a shot at a front mount. It appears to say FREE "STYLE" TURBO CHARGED on the hood written with marker
and one more word below that, that might say (BLOWER?) ..... I guess they goofed off at times.
