Today i went and pick up a 78 440 liquifire out of Mountain Iron Minnesota its been sitting on a dirt floor for about 15 years. havent started the investigation yet so there will be more posted.

Barn finds are fun. It looks like it should be something you can work with. Is the seat foam still good. The 78 Liquifire had a unique seat similiar to the 80+ Liquifires.

i think the seat can be saved but only john's will know for sure.

Nice find Mike. I suppose you are on the lookout for two 78 dashes now ( I haven't forgot and am still looking).

As for the seat John can make any JD seat from scratch. Foam is getting expensive so it is cheaper to have something to build off of, but not required and depending on how far gone actually harder to use. Don't let lack of a seat foam hold you back from finishing your sleds guys, John can help.

noticed these extra holes in the tunnel of the 78 wondering if anybody knows what there for or if its just someones customization over the years thanks!
