81 LF crank question

Post by monte44 »

I'm working on a 81 liquifire and was wondering if the 2 o rings on the center seal can be removed and replaced? If so what size part number are the o rings? Thanks.

I have had my crank for my 80 Liquifire 440 rebuilt twice now. The orings can be replaced, the tough part is you have to stretch them over the connecting rods. If I remember correctly, they are similar to what Ski-doo used on there 440 engines. I don't know the part number, I am looking at the invoice for the orings right now but they did not put a part number on, just the cost. My head studs are also from a Ski-doo 440. I had my work done at Mot's machining in St.Albert, they do good work.

Just checked Ronnies mail order microfiche. Found the 377 motor had orings on the bearings. Part # is 293300022. Might want to check a Doo dealer and see if those will work.

Take one in and they can match it up as I don't think it is any thing special. I just had this done on an 80 spitfire crank at ISC in Plymouth. I don't have a part number, but they had all kinds of different size oil seals on hand. I buy all my bearings there and have yet to order anything as they always have what I need in stock.

You could also call Jerome...I'm sure he could tell you a part# or size on that seal.

Is it the same o ring used on the trailfire crank bearings? I know that is a 62mm o ring. Thanks.

Arctic Cat 3001-437. Helps to soak the O rings in hot water before trying to put them on.
