Anyone have trouble with just headlight burning out

Post by fordmtrsp »

My liquifire ran about 100 miles on it and then we noticed the bulb burnt out put another one in and it burnt out shortly after. Brake and tailight havent burnt out or the dash lights. Is this the voltage regulator? Thanks for any help

I could be the regulator and you can check this with a volt meter set to read AC Volts.

But it could be the type of bulb or the lamp mounting itself.

There should be springs on all the mounting bolts. This helps dampen vibrations that can shorten the filament life in a bulb.

Anything under the hood making contact with the rear of the headlamp or its mounting bracket?

Just had this happen to me. The wire harness running to the headlight came loose and touched the exhaust. It melted 2 wires down to bare metal. I had to cut off the burnt part and wire in a fix.

Not sure if it is the problem, but something to check.

Yep good advice...

Check your wiring to the headlight and try replacing the voltage regulator while your at it.
