Family Photos

Post by 70WT1 »

I found a few old photo's today, my family was big into sledding back in the 70's. At one time we owned a 78 440 Liquifire, 3- 1976 340 Cyclones, 1972 400, and a 80 Liquifire. The 80 is the only sled I still own today. My dad bought all these sleds new from the same dealer.
I clearly remember packing snow on the heads of that 78 Liquifire to cool it down on warmer days. :bonk:

That's me at 2 years old. I know you want cool goggles like that. :bonk: :lol22:

Photo 2 circa 1976 (check out the snowbank in the background)
Me again with my dad on one of the Cyclones, my brothers are on the JDX8, a close family friend is on his 400 in the back, he also owned the JDX my brother is driving. I have no idea who is on the Super Stinger(I think), my dad is in Florida so I cant ask him. My brother remembers this guy was a family friend and always went riding with us, if fact my brother said he used to ride with him a lot. Especially when his feet got cold. :sled:

This is how you haul Deere in Maine, by the truck load. :lol22:
The truck was my dads 1972 International 1 Ton.
The Spitty was my oldest brothers best friends sled and he also is the grandson of the dealer we bought all the sleds from. It was always on the top rack :sled:
The Cyclone was my brothers, you can see "Rick" on the hood, how tacky is that. :lol22:
The sleds in the back I think was another one of our cyclones and the 78 Liquifire.

That's really cool man it's neat to see you were exposed to Deere so early like me. It's funny how it just sticks with you isn't it?

Those old photos ate great! It's always good to have a story with it. I need to ask the guy that showed me deere sleds if he has any old pictures like that. He owned a Deere dealership and still has 4 1980 fire series sleds. All look like they did when he had them on the floor.
