78 CC Y pipe questions

Post by 80spitfire »

Hey guys,

So the other day I stumbled across a rather interesting part. I found what I believe is a NOS 78 CC Y pipe. The reason why I believe this is because it has the very distinguishable reinforcement plates welded on the ball joint. However, I do have some concerns with the part and I was hoping you guys could help me out with this. Where the part number normally is you can see that the stamping has been welded in and it doesn't have the proper number stamped on it; is this normal? It does; however, have the number written on it in paint pen and it also has a tag on it that says the number. It almost seems like somebody could have tried to fake a regular 78 y pipe to look like a CC one but if that was done it happened a long time ago because it's all painted the same color and it has a lot of normal shelf wear. It also seems kind of odd to me that somebody would have done it so long ago; then again I've been wrong before lol Anyways, here's a couple pictures of it for you guys to look at. Let me know what ya think!

Thanks,
Brian

Well after a phone call to Jesse, it turns out it is real. Now the question is, is anybody interested in buying it or trading any Liquidator parts for it?
