What happened?
I use ebay enough to make me dangerous but, what the heck happened to the bidding on the recent 84 Liquifire?
It went from bids in excess of $1200 back down to a no sale at $850ish.
Was anyone here effected? I was using it to set a base for mine.
Anyone?

Re: What happened?
I saw the price drop, but wasn't really watching it that close. No money! Maybe someone retracted their bid, so it went back to the last highest bid?

Now that you have your base set, I would be willing to go about $850ish on yours Bob. Send me some pics please.

Re: What happened?
I would guess they made a back-channel deal and cancelled the auction. You have to cancel all the bids first to do that.

Re: What happened?
I read the bid history. Two bids were retracted. That sled and auction were a mess. Did not meet the reserve.
I'd run from that sled and that deal!

Re: What happened?
Ok fellows I watched the auction END and it never made the reserve ! I believe the high bidder retracted their bid after doing some research OR someone was jacking around ? Then it went back to the second highest bidder.
Ok now my Opinion ! This sled was bid up to what it was worth, and in the condition it was in ! Which obviously the seller thinks it is worth ALOT more. I very much disagree ! Its only worth what someone is willing to pay for it ! There were 420 liquifires produced for 84' they are still out there guys waiting to be found ! I think $850 for the sled was fair with the work it needed and some of the original parts missing !
just my .0135 cents worth

Re: What happened?
I've retracted bids before in the past. It's not all that uncommon. After further pondering of some of those past items, I lowered my bid and felt it to be just. I had a bid on that sled but it was in the 6's. Semi- rare sled yes but it needed work. There were only 146 1982 Sprintfires produced but in the last 7 years, I've had 5 of them in my possession. One thing I have learned in my years collecting sleds is patience. Give it time and keep searching and you will stumble upon them.

My Grandpa used to say "If you wait long enough you will get everything you want for free." That being said, I do know for a fact that sleds turn up cheaper if you let them find you. TASKY

Re: What happened?
I'm not sure that is the type of question you should ask on this board Chuck. You are making it way to easy for these guys.I500 wrote:What is my problem.?
Let me try one: Ummmmm, where do I start Chuck? or how about, Ummmm, I don't know, let me ask your wife.
Sorry, but you did ask the question.
Re: What happened?
You don't have a problem Chuck! If anyone tells you any different, THEY are the ones with the problem.
