I have gotten a little farther on it this last week. I blasted and painted some of the parts, but still have some left. I didn't take the time to fill in the rust pitting before I painted it, but I am not going for perfect here. If I do it up too nice, I will be afraid to take it out! I painted the steel skis, but am still kicking around the idea of the plastic ones...

Yeah, there has been some. I just haven't taken any pictures lately. The chaincase, jackshaft, driveshaft, and track are in. The steering column is mounted as well. I still have a few parts left to paint. I was a little busy the last few weeks getting a couple other sleds running, and rebuilding a LF engine for a couple friends. I will get some more pictures as soon as I get a chance to take them. I have a few vacation days left for when the paint is all done. She will come together in a hurry then!

I snapped a couple of pictures of the latest progress. The tank will still need another application of Back to Black, but it looks a lot better than it did. I will put up a picture of the dash as soon as I get the gauges installed.

I've had some time to work on it over the holiday weekend. I hope to get the steering complete and engine in tomorrow. I installed the "Deep Snow Kit" on it as well. We'll see how differently it handles.

Okay, heres a few more pictures of the recent progress. I besides getting the motor in, I installed the ski skins and carbides. Does anyone know of a brake cable that is a little longer and will fit the LF brake setup? I have a 1.5 inch riser and my cable is a little short. (Story of my life)

Looking good IHE. I think the 83 LF has the best looking graphics package of the 80-84's.

I got some time to get a little more done this weekend. There is still some touch up stuff to do here. I hope to get the hood ready for primer by this weekend, but I guess I will see what the week brings.

Thanks, Matt! You should see the other one that I had gotten from you. It looks really nice as well! It's a far cry from the parts machine path it was on before.

Also stick with the JD heads with those pistons unless you want to recut the squish band in the Invader heads
