I picked this 81 up from JD Joe last year, i was looking for a rider for my grandson, it was in ruff shape but it was all there, has a 275cc Jag engine in it, i had a few 78/79 Spits for parts so i took the best hood and had it painted JD Saber green and went with the 81 decals, a freind did the seat for me and i built a new rear bumper, NOS windshield, put a teither on it for safty, runs great. 1980 124552m 09 79 Very original Evan Lafontaine Sudbury Ontario Canada November 2018 Duhamel and dewar History when it was sold it was ridden almost every day for about 1 year and sold to it’s second owner that road it as an ice fishing sled but parked it after a year it sat for a good decade and was found by by the collector I bought it from ,he parked it in his storage barn and left it there in favour of his ever growing list of machines luckily he occasionally would start it but most of it’s problems happened when he sold his collection in favour of 4x4’s and aatv’s it was often hit by the big machines witch made many of its dents so one day it went for sale and as soon as I could I bought it and found it in a barn he called the John Deere barn so there it was at the very back corner behind about 20 jd amt’s There it was my dream sled complete with original belt and perfect engine so I pulled it out of there and within ten pulls it was running took it for a ride and loaded it in the truck to this day I have only cleaned the carb put new fuel line and recovered the seat and running fine on the trail.
