That would be a Silver Bullet TNT Buck.

I hope you guys don't think I like SkiDoo's just because I know a thing or two about them. <_<

Ski Doos with Polar Fires (CDI) ignitions were 73 400 TNT F/A, all models of 74 & 75 TNT F/A, 74 Nordic, 75-78 RVs. Stator plates used a variety of P/Ns. P/Ns were: 73-- 420 993 021 (also 402 4470) : 74/75-- 420 993 261 (Nordic) & 420 993 262 & 420 865 850 (RV); 76 to 78 RVs used 420 865 855. Some folks claim certain stator plates will only work with specific Polar Fires CDIs; there are a variety of P/N for them too.

These have been known to fail. Because they were (mostly) used in performance sleds of the day, they aren?t the easiest to find alone. Best bet it to find a complete motor with an intact bottom end. Would be ideal if the matched CDI and Stator were present. You?ll find the stators more often attached because people don?t have the correct tools to pull the magneto assbly. Scott Hewett?s CDIs will work with several of the stators---see his site.
Good luck.

buck43 wrote: I just read this post and had a question. I just picked up a 73 tnt 294 its a net little sled painted silver with dual carbs. Can anyone tell me anything about it or where I might find parts? It has primer bulbs on it I think they are way to big they look like there of a boat motor about 4-5" long thanks Shannon
The Silver Bullets were made for the 73 model year only and they were a pretty sharp looking sled, but I heard they had considerable engine probs. The were made in three sizes....294, 340, and 440. My understanding is that the 294 is the most difficult to find, and surprisingly, it was faster than the 340 and almost as quick as the 440 because the 294 had dual carbs and the bigger ones came only with a single single carb. I don't think the primers you describe were ever used on that model. Nice find, even if it's a Ski Doo

The smaller Silver Bullet is very fast. I have not riden the two bigger ones.

First thing to do with it is put ski spreaders on it!!!!!!!!

They are a handfull with out the added width.
$20 well spent.

Green and Gold,

My CDI is fine.

It is the trigger coil I need.

Yes, the 73 SB TNT is a good looking sled.

What really appeals to me is it is not yellow.

I am going to the vintage races right next door to the guy and will see if I can get a pic. I would not be terribly surprised to see this thing race, there are some guys that bring snow cruisers and some vintage doo's. Will see what I can do.

Thanks guys for the info on the SB 294 TNT. The ski spreaders sound like a good idea I thought man the skis are afull close on this thing. The first thing will be to remove those primer bulbs. The sleds all there just needs cosmetic work (rust on tunnel at foot boards). Not a bad sled for 100 bucks. Shannon

Hey Rich, thank you for the heads up on this.

While the plate on my Hirth is larger the two trigger coils appear to be the same.
Some rework will be required but she will bark again.

those little 294 silver bullets are quite collectible now for guys who race them in the 300cc classes(24hp). I have a 440 silver bullet motor in a 72 Olympic body(same body as tnt) and it hauls. It has a factory single tuned pipe and puts out a respectable 42hp. It is pretty fast. I let off the throttle when the speedo got to 70mph!

I noticed a 73 294 Silver Bullet in The Bargain Hunter for $300.00. It's in Esterhazy, SK. Phone # is 306-745-2561. It doesn't say anything about the condition....so it's probably a mess. It might be worth a peek for anybody going thru that area. Richard, you could use a Silver Bullet.

Pete, I need another sled like I need a hole in the head. At over 35 sleds I am starting to thin the heard!

Hey, if space is the problem I'll come and get those Dators out of your way to make room for the Bullet. No problem at all...I'd do it for anyone
