I'm going to go and check a local vintage parts dealer for the disk. It is probably pretty standard. The plastic drive sprockets appear to be pressed on to the shaft? I'm hoping to find a complete assembly and just replace the whole works. I forgot to mention that I need the rear grab handle assemblies too. Is anyone repopping those on the aftermarket?

Clack, I believe we went through the brake rotor deal with another member last winter & If my memory serves me right the rotor is 340/S specific, ( because of it's Dia. ) I'll look to see how many I have laying around here, give me a few days, also I have New Mikuni Needle & seats I can spare a couple..

Thanks again Kenny. I sure appreciate all of the help you and others have given! There is still a lot of work to be done, but its starting to come together. The brake disk has somewhat separated from the plate that is on it. Somewhere along the line, it has been braised in 5 or 6 places. I suppose the person fixed it because they couldn't find one.

I'll let Mercdiver know we will have needles and seats in the next couple of weeks

Thanks again!!!!!

Clack, I haven't found a 340/S brake disc yet, but I'm still looking.

Kenny,

Keep us posted. I have a few jackshaft assembly's from the 340/s. So far I have the soaking in penetrating oil, as they are stuborn. A buddy has an arbor press, so I should be able to free one up if you don't have a spare available.

Clack, I might be able to help with drive sprockets too.

Joe, if possible on the sprockets that would be great. I am going to order the grab handles from Dennis Kirk (Thanks for the part number Brian!) and the last part we are still lacking is a track. If anyone has one out there, we do have some money left from donations and I would buy one. Or pay for shipping if that is a concern. Thanks again to all.

I have a track that will fit. It is a 2/3 cleated track. When Joe goes to Princeton he's stopping by to drop off the charity sled suspension. What about sending the track with him? Is that too late. DA

I don't think that would be too late. The plan was late August or early September we would get together to reassemble the machine down at Mercdivers.....Do you know the dates of Princeton this year?

When I get home I'll get the track out of my shed and make sure it's worthy. I will let you know otherwise we'll plan on Joe bringing it to Princeton and you getting from there. I can always ship it if necessary.

Well under way on the body work part of things. We are doing our best to not damage the tunnel vin sticker. The left foot rest has been a bit mangled. Looks like was cut and bent in order to provide access to the drive end. If I can't find a replacement, I think we will be able to fix the one that is on it. Its gonna take a bfh and some sweat.

Clack,

If Don doesn't have a good track, I will buy one and bring it to Prinston. Either way, I will plan to bring a track with me. Are you or one of the guys going?

I will look, but I don't think I have a foot rest. If I do, I will ship it. Still checking for sprockets. I might have some NOS ones buried somewhere.

Kenny, any luck with the brake disk?

Sorry guys, I keep coming up with more questions here. I took a screw on gas cap off of a Polaris tank and it does'nt fit the JD tank. The JD opening seems smaller. Do they have a unique sized fuel cap?
