Sprintfire Shaft length

Post by guitardude081 »

I got the suspension all disassembled, and I had to go out and buy a piece of steel round stock to make an inner shaft. This time it won't bend. I'm gonna chalk it up on the lathe first thing in the morning. How long should the shaft be? I bought a 16" piece of steel, and I'm gonna have to cut some off of the end. There's nothing better than custom fabbing JD parts. So far I have re-welded a new piece of tubing on the arm, because the old piece cracked off when I pressed out the inner sleeve, and I had to make a new shaft for the limiter strap. This sucker is going to be bullet proof when I'm done. It runs awsome with the rebuilt carb, new filters and lines, now I just need suspension so I can engage the track. I should include a pic of the hyfax. It was to the point of if I drove it 10 more feet I would have had cleat to rail contact.
