76 Cyclone Suspension Rebuild

Post by jdsledsrgr8 »

Planning on tearing apart my 76 cyclone suspension this week and go through it. It current is in pretty good shape but I feel spending a little time and money on this area would be worth while. So before I start I thought I would send out a quick post to see how readily available NOS parts or current knock off brand parts are:

Pair of Drive Sprockets AM52913
One Drive Wheel M64837
One Front Right Spring M66226
One Front Left Spring M66227
One Rear Right Spring M65666
One Rear Left Spring M6566
Pair of Slide Rails M64480
Three Rear Idler Wheels AM52952

Shocks I know are next to non existent but I am am going to try a RydeX shock that they say will work, 8200 series. Rest looks to be just hardware.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Manufacturers Supply has the correct white slides.

Rebuild your idler wheels.

Re-use everything else.

I really agree with Brian. The springs can be found NOS but unless they're physically broken I' d use the ones you have. Same with slide rails unless the slides were worn so bad that they ate into the rails. Even then, used ones are fine. AM 52952 are almost non-existant in NOS but are rebuildable.
