I was hoping to have it going next week, will see what happens, I am a ways from Aitkin but could be done. 340 & 440 are the same but there is a different part number for the very high engine serial numbers. Do you or anyone know what would be different.

Yes, I saw that too, I think I will make an offer. Same party I got a tach from, works great. They also have a helmet in the extra large, maybe could combine shipping, get an early christmas present and ride safe.
Still wondering is there a difference on the early and late models.
I did ask for casting numbers on their parts, havn't heard back.
The one I have may work but I can see and feel a crack in the bottom inside and see it outside as well. Carb cleaner doesn't go through but, Why use it?

Thanks Wade, that sounds like the way this one was, and thanks to Kenny for his offer.
I found one real close to home, Howard checked his stash and came up with one! Also was told they need to stay as a pair as they are align bored. JDX models use the same part number but the one I got from Howard has only two mounting screws for the timing ring vs four on the one I have as well as less mounting pads. Picked up crank from the Tech school here in DL this week and will soon hear this 440 purr. Brought this mess home last February.
