My 295/s is in need of a belt. I have tired a cheap (lemans pro series) after-market belt, and it was too short so the sled wouldn't idle. Is there any aftermarket belts that will work? Are there any mods to make the aftermarket belts work? I have several Oem belts, but they are all wore out.

Dayco Max 1071M2 or Good Year 10-71165 or 71165 Not sure which is Good Years number & which is Kimpex's #.. Belt size is 44-5/8" X 1-1/4"
Not sure IF you had the correct size belt in the Le Mans belt you had or not, BUT it could also be that your clutch has an improper belt spacing or you have an improper engine to Driven clutch spacing???

I'll try one of those. I do know that the cheap le mans one was noticable shorter than a the JD belt. Also, I didn't think that the center to center distance was adjustable on the 295. I have the stock clutches on this sled too. I was just wondering if people were adjusting the spacing to accommodate the available belts.
I'm getting close on a set of pistons, so I want to get everything right on the first try! I have had this sled for 15ish years, and have never got to ride it running correctly.
