74 600 Fuel Pump Question

Post by Cabindweller »

My 600 dosn't have the heat deflector between the motor and the carb. Now that I have one on the way I am not sure where the proper mounting location of the fuel pump is supposed to be. My fuel pump is currently mounted on the back side of the steel Clutch gaurd, to the left and below the carburator. I don't think it is the original location. It appears to me it will be in the way of the heat deflector. This will only apply to the sleds with the Bendix carburators witch required a fuel pump. Such as the JDX4 special and the 74 400, 500 and 600. Pictures would be great!

Thanks

Jerry

The fuel pump on the Bendix equipped machines is attached to the heat shield just above and to the left of the carburetor. If you have the right heat shield it should have the mounting holes already in it.If you have an owners manual it shows the location in the carburetor adjustment section. Perhaps someone more computer savvy can post pictures in case your shield doesn't have the mounting holes.
