Kawasaki invader 550

Post by moontree »

a friend of mine has put me on the hunt for a Kawasaki Invader 550. he said he originally got his brand new from the dealer. it was a one per dealer issued sled. now he is an empty nester looking for a 2nd child hood. it was all black. he said it was the only sled he never dared hold the throttle @ wide open on the top end. i searched craigs. could this have been what is being called a invader 4/6??

Here's a link

Be prepared to lay down some serious coin for one. Not a lot were made, and parts bring a good price and are hard to find, from what I've seen.

I think there was one in the show area at A-1 this fall.

Interceptor's are very rare and like nick says, very expensive.

The 4/6 model and the Limited models of the Invader are a very fast machines but kind of hard to find also.

Also want to make sure you are getting an engine with the correct interceptor jugs on it as the 81/82 440 LTD jugs will bolt on the interceptor bottom end.
Home For Old Sleds had # 75 up for sale for $3000 on the Kawasakitrax site. Not sure if he sold it or not yet.
