Liquifire Expansion Chamber

Post by mctavish.95 »

On the homepage along time ago there was a photo of a 400 grass dragging with expansion chambers on it. I would like to make/buy one for a my 77 440 liquifire. I am wondering if any one know anything about one, has plans or knows how to make one or has one to sell. Any info will help!
Thanks

here's a pair of aaens that i have been working on putting in my 76 340 chassis with a 440 koritz the pipes where off a 521 ski doo is what the description on ebay said, i am cutting the tail cone and stinger off and making them longer so that they will come outta the foot wells, check ebay from time to time, you can always find a set and modify them to fit your chassis and motor, i got the set for $45 shipped they are out there just gotta find them, and the good thing is that you can always modify them to fit your chassis, im am using a liquifire chassis because im gonna use them on my liquidator oval clone ive been working on

not sure if the 521rotax and liquifire pipes are close but you might end up losing power, and a jetting night mare If you want to sell them and still have the original parts that you cut off i would be intrested. Pipes are built looking at port duration and peak hp at a certain rpm that you want to have. I have been reading a few books on how to build them but you need to have a dyno and a lot of time to do it, very expensive. If any one has a set i can copy the and fab the gored style pipes. I am looking for a set of 80 liquifire pipes.
I buy sell and service all brands. i have also been reading into the calcs involved with making a pipe and porting. There is some serious math involved with both and I'm not sure if the rotax stuff will work well. That and the squared off end might affect things also. Even if you get the proper AAEN pipes for the motor I think there is still some porting work to be done on the motor to get things to work correctly.

ya tuned pipes work like sound waves bouncing around to scavenge exaust out of an engine and if it is pushing back when the port is opening that is no good. And like you said most of the time engines are built to the pipes. If i guy was to take the port specs from a rotax which has a rotary valve intake vs. piston port and match the port duration of the intake and exaust the pipes would work great. I was told if you port a fire series liquifire to match an 80 srx with a set of twin pipes or even the stock pipe it really wakes them up.
