Liquidator Bogie Wheel Bearings

Post by jdsledsrgr8 »

Having trouble locating new bearings for the Liquidator Bogie wheels. The bearings measure: 16 mm inside diameter, 40 mm outside diameter and 12 mm wide.

Anythoughts? 6 bearings are needed.

Thanks for the help

According to JDparts Deere part # PM8980DD apears to be dimensionaly correct. I'm not familiar with the Dators so I'm not sure it's exactly what you need.
80 Liquifire (purchased 1996 ~ Running)
80 Liquifire (purchased 2010 ~ Running....Now)
80 Liquifire (purchased 2011 ~ Not running - I officially have a problem now)
83 Snowfire (purchased 2014 father/son restoration project)
78 Spitfire ~ sold (should have been shot for this)

Here's another one that I found.

But when I did a quick search of the NTN and Timken catalogs 16mm ID bearings don't seem to be listed

6200 hundred series of bearings are the most common ones out there.

You should have no problem finding 6203 bearings just about anywhere.

Make note that 6203 bearing has an inside diameter of 16.6 which creates too much play.

John Deere still sells a 16 by 40 by 12 mm bearing and my local JD dealership is going to get some in for me. I will let everyone know if the John Deere bearing is a true 16 mm inside diameter.

What I normally do is take the bearing into the local bearing supply shop. They measure them and match them up to there suppliers bearings, they give me some funny looks when they ask what they are for but I have had really good luck.

I hear yah on this one when I told the John Deere dealership it was from a John Deere snowmobile he sort of looked at me as to say what planet did you just come from. Based on the gentleman's age he was obviously not from the era when John Deere snowmobiles were king. But he was still very accomodating to dig deep and find JD still has a bearing to match.

I realized I never posted that the bearings from John Deere did fit, a little tight but was better than the standard bearings that had too big of an open diameter.

So for anyone rebuilding a Liquidator suspension and in need of bearings for the bogie wheels order them from John Deere. Standard 6203 bearings that you can pick up any where have too big of an opening, 16.6mm. The John Deere bearings had openings around 15.7 to 16mm on the dot.
