Trying to find out more info on my 340/S

Post by Cabindweller »

I bought a 340/S chassis a wile ago and I am trying to decide wether I should put the effort into restoring it. If It has any race history I would with out a doubt keep up the serch for parts and put it back together some day. Here is what I know about it. It is Serial #307 It was sold from a dealer in Williston ND. The first owner was someone named G Kielsch of RR1 Williston, ND. My feeling based on the condition of the front spindle structure is perhaps it saw some race action. The right Spindle was repaired and the left side is tweeked also. The gentleman I bought it from was also from ND. I have done some digging looking for more info on G Kielsch and did not turn up very much in the ND area. I do have a good start on the parts I will need to restore this. Here are a few pictures any info is much appreciated.

Well yes, it does look like someone tried to tear the right spindle off. That indicates aggressive riding if not racing.

I don't think it really matters though, they are rare enough that I would advocate putting it back together if you can locate the parts.

Of course they are evil and consume your soul, but compromises always have to be made.
