WE ARE SMILING!

Here's a couple more shots. "Horicon Joe" Wanie hasn't set up all his memorabilia yet in these photos, he was off finding a place to camp in the woods.

I plan on going back Saturday. Making a living is getting in the way of my having a good time.

The coolest part is the ability to see an 80-81-82-83 and 84 Liquifire side by side. Neat display.

My buddies are really looking out for me, look what greeted me when I got to the show today.

The business card is a guy with a JDX6 for sale I guess.

I'll let Don tell you who's sled is getting the most attention.

Don took so many photos that he had to take his camera over to Walmart on Saturday to have it recharged.

I was so preoccupied on Saturday that I never took any of the finished display, so I hope Don can post a few.

When I arrived around 1:30 Sunday, the guys had the display pretty much boxed back up.

A few photos and then some comments.

When I arrived on Sunday, Joe greeted me with: "I'm sorry about your seat, we don't know when that happened."
I was aghast, this was the new re-cover that I had installed last Wednesday, and I haven't even sat on it yet!
I was looking for holes or tears, when he finally said; "see the foot prints?" I looked it over and observed ; that is a pretty aggressive riding position!

Joe said that the kids had been driving them nuts all day. I believe that it was a deliberate decision not to rope the sleds off, so people could walk around them and look at them closely. The problem is that they are irresistible to the kids, and a few of the adults. I guess the guys had really gotten fed up with it.

While Joe and Pat were loading the sleds, a young boy came along and climbed on Joe's 295/S. I could see the pure joy on the kid's face, and I didn't want to ruin this for him, so I walked over casually, and leaned over and said; pretty neat sled huh? The kid relied "Oh yeah!" I agreed, then said; but he'd rather you not sit on it. At that the kid jumped off and said; Oh I'm sorry! I told him that it was OK, because it was a really cool sled. Then he asked; How do they make them fly? Somewhat taken aback, I said; what? He replied; how do they make anything so heavy fly?
Understanding now, I replied that they don't really fly, and that it really hurts when you land! He said; OK, then he took off.

I had a number of good conversations with show goers in the short time I was there. Just before I loaded the X8 up, a young couple walked through, and the gal made the observation that the sled had current registration on it. They ride it she exclaimed! I turned to them and said; not only is it ridden, its ridden hard! I then pointed out the MI trail pass still on the windshield, and explained that we had been up in the UP last Feb. The chick was impressed!

Here are a couple of photos that I took.
The first is Brian with his engine and the second is the REAL Mr. Lindner. They might be turned around, still not sure how posting pictures works sometimes.

We had other visitors too!! Ed Kruel stopped by on Saturday and once again shared a part of his vast knowledge of John Deere sleds and of course Ed and I talked softball. Both of us have grandaughters that are pretty good softball players. If I have the picture correct L-R The back of Lee Wanie a retired JD engineer, Ed, Horicon Joe Wanie and AirborneX4Special Pat Hickey. It was my first time meeting Pat this weekend and needless to say we had a great time.

I almost missed the arrival of Duane (69 Camaro)!!! Thankfully I had not left yet when he arrived but my sleds were loaded. I had to leave earlier on Sunday than most. It was great to see Duane (and Kyle his son again). L-R Duane, Pat Hickey, myself, and Joe Wanie. I really want to thank Joe and Brian for inviting me to join this show. While it's not a snowmobile event, we were featured in the "Feature" building because it was the "Year of the Deere" there.
