Bizarre Dream
Had a dream last night that I was in a JD dealership for some misc parts and there on the showroom floor was a brand new John Deere Trailfire. In my dream it was 2010 but the sled was a 2008 model and I was wondering how in the heck I missed John Deere having a sled out again without me knowing about it.
Anyway, the Trailfire was still a 440 but now it was a single cylinder. It did have electric start and reverse. The hood was made out of a different more flexible material and painted a little darker charcoal grey metallic. It had the same shape as the Trailfires we know but it was wider. The windshield was similar but taller and seemed to be of better quality than the brittle "Cross Country" windshields we had back in the day.
The seat was still a bench seat but now it had kind of the pillow top similar to the early 90's Ski Doo Formula Plus and Mach 1. It came with an adjustable backrest and it was also an extended track. I remember asking the salesman about the seat base and he said it was now plastic instead of wood. It also now had a built in gas gauge.
The skis were similar to what DA has on his sled. The track was still cleated but now the cleats were some advanced hard rubber and the track quality appeared much greater as well. The sled also had more rear travel.
Overall, it looked like the two up sleds of today but done up in much more simple fashion. It looked like the materials and overall quality had stepped up into modern times. The salesman said the sled was designed for trailriders, farmers checking their fence lines, and ice fisherman.
The price was $5488.00 but since the sled was a carryover 2008 model, I was trying to work him over and bring it home for $2900.00. Then I woke up so I figured I better write this down before I forget the details.

Re: Bizarre Dream
I'm guessing it must have been cheese. Some of that stuff before bedtime can make for some pretty vivid dreams. Whatever it was, Robb..........eat some more of it tonight so maybe you can bring on part 2. Hopefully in the next episode, you'll be able to take it for a test run because we are anxious to hear how well it handles and how that single banger performs. I sure hope you can get him talked down to $2900.00.WinnipegStPaul9 wrote:OK Robb, just what did you eat before going to bed last night?

Re: Bizarre Dream
well bombardier did make john deere the buck atv based off the retired traxter line. So I guess you never know when they might have someone build them a sled. I see they have a new 60 mph side by side utv out now comparable to the polaris razar which are a blast. But there is only one 800cc twin dator i know of that someone built. I would have to think jd might have someone around there thinking about a sled in the future since they are selling good again according to the magazines.
I buy sell and service all brands. Contact me and i might be able to help. sleds 2-liquidators, 75 340/S, 80 liquifire, 78 440 liquifire, 75 jd 300, 83 9700 skidoo blizzard, 86 skidoo formula plus, 79 motoski super sonic, 91 skidoo mach 1 x, 92 formula plus x, 95 mxz 440, 3 toni hiakonen edition mxz's, 98 mxzx, 97 mxzx, 77 skidoo rv cross coutry, 77 skidoo Rv 340, 75 skidoo tnt 340FA, 97skidoo formula3LT, 06 800 skidoo summit, 08 skidoo tnt full trail mod with nos

You are scaring me! Why can't you dream about normal stuff like naked midgets and cows out in the highway?

Re: Bizarre Dream
Well, I did dream of a one legged Nun walking a goat, does that count?
The dream was pretty vivid and I liked the look of that sled, too bad it's not reality even if it was a single cylinder. I remember offering the $2900 but then I woke up so I never found out what happened. I was in Nashville, TN when I had the dream. Probably came around because I did a Craigslist search in Nashville prior to going to bed. No John Deere sleds in Nashville. I figured if Rainville can find John Deere sleds in Texas, I could find some in Tennessee.

Mexican food usually generates crazy dreams for me followed by crazy odor the following day. I think I had a dream about an IFS 550 Liquifire one night.............WinnipegStPaul9 wrote:OK Robb, just what did you eat before going to bed last night? Re: Bizarre Dream
After a night of drinking this last weekend I apparently was talking to my girlfriend in my sleep and had this elaborate plan of making it rich by renting out John Deere snowmobile parts... . Needless to say she thinks I have issues. But you guys make me feel normal
