Hard restarting?
Looking for some advice here. got the 650 Wildcat powered dator out today to do some cking. put about 5 miles on it. I shut it off to ck plugs. the Mag side was a little rich and Pto side was about right. I put the plugs back in and it didn't start right away.(had been sitting for about 5 min) Had to hold the throttle WO till it fired up (About 3-4 pulls) It runs well so DO I need another set of needles and seats? (they were new last spring) Or can I adj the floats down to help cure this hard starting when warm? It will start right up other wise when cold, its not flooded. the eng idles fine, doesn't load up or anything.

Sounds to me like maybe needle and seats. My little Spitfire was doing that last year so I'd give that a shot. I'm not sure about the floats though maybe that would work too.

I've had that many times, IMO i think the needle and seat should be fine since they were new last year. With carb upside down and on level surface, the float arms should be level. If not, it may still be pouring gas into sled while off.

your vintage of cat engines are known for stators getting weak when they warm up. I would check to make sure you have good spark and a good ground

IF not one of the problems mentioned below.. Which Needle & Seats were installed? IF they weren't genuine Mikuni then that could be the problem. I have had people including a Polaris dealer tell me that the rubber coated needles & some of the cheap other Mfg. products aren't living up to the Std.'s & quality that the genuine Mikuni's have..
I will be placing an order for Genuine Mikuni Needle & seats around the first of Jan. so I will have a bunch, If Matt wants to have some for the store I will set him up with a bunch so you guy's can get the real thing through him..
It also could be that you've got the floats set a little high? so I would recheck that also
