steel saddles for plastic skis
steel saddles for plastic skis
Talked to a guy named Matt Pfankuch about saddles he has for sale on VS. He's played with designs and tested and for sale! He said they are set up for 26" springs and SLP skis. For more info go to www.drivenproductsinc.com He was askin $125 a set. (without skis or springs) Dave

Hi Dave.
My only fear is that these are set up for the powder pro skis and not the SLT skis that most of the guys here are running. I know the powder pro skis are shorter that the SLT skis, but i don't know how this would effect the handling of the sled.

Good point! He did say that some customers moved the rear mount in and some out longer for ski preference. His saddle has no side wall in the center section for it can flex. Interesting design.

Re: steel saddles for plastic skis
I currently have someone working on a spring mount for the SLP SLT like DA has, so that the kit could be purchased through New Breed.

Excellent idea, Matt. I believe there was a degree of trial and error involved with DA's ski setup.

So much so that DA decided to let others work on the project. That said I do have two or three sets of Yami 24" that I'd sell.

I think the intent is to have them work on JD springs, but I haven't heard if that is possible yet

Re: steel saddles for plastic skis
I think the ones Matt Pfankuch is making utilize a 26 inch spring.

Re: steel saddles for plastic skis
Would there be legal liabilities if these were sold and somebody got hurt due to failure... Just wondering as this is always a possibility these days.

Re: steel saddles for plastic skis
Sure, there is always a potential for that. Perhaps we could find a way to have the skis stress-tested.
