340/spistons
The last time i talked to Larry i discussed the posibility about him starting a conversation with his contact regarding 340/s pistons. This has been talked about extensively on this forum with Kenny and PJ , i think. They got very close to pulling the trigger. Correct me if i,m wrong but wasnt there something like a $4000.00 set up cost from Wiseco? Larry didnt seem to interested in flipping the bill because he,s already done this before but would talk to his connection over at wiseco.
There was interest from others on repoping these pistons. Still interested. Anybody else?.......... How much real interest is there in 340/s pistons at this time. Cost of setup i dont think will ever get cheaper. Any suggestions?
Chuck

Re: 340/spistons
Chuck, I'm very interested in repop'd pistons but others have found other brands that work. That said, those brands too are hard to find. I wouldn't go nuts but I'd sure like to have at least 3 sets of repro pistons.

Re: 340/spistons
What we have wondered...is if the Dator piston tooling could be used to make 340/S pistons as well.
There are some obvious differences, but there are also some things that are the same.
I'd be in for at least 2 sets.

Re: 340/spistons
Well...................I guess the only people that really need them are those that own 340/S. It's not a matter of "if", it's a matter of "when" they'll need them. Just my .02

Re: 340/spistons
Just wondering if this investment could ever be a break even deal. I very much doubt it . You can bet that i,d be doing an exclusive rights to these pistons. Better start counting beans and check this out further.... Did i mention that i have 7 340/s sleds.?

Re: 340/spistons
If only a guy could win the lottery I would have pistons made for all or Deere race sleds.

Re: 340/spistons
Chuck,
How many do you figure it would take to make the project viable?
At this time of year, not everyone hangs out here. Grumpy is in Vietnam for instance, it may take a little while to get maximum participation.
A ball park dollar figure would sure help as well, as my observation is that most of the guys here need to budget for stuff like this.
It sure would be great to get this done.

Re: 340/spistons
That's the big problem here. Not sure it could even make "break even" point. Not sure how many 340/S there are lurking out there. Think I'll start a post asking how many.I500 wrote:Just wondering if this investment could ever be a break even deal. I very much doubt it .
