Post by Deere Daze »

Started this a couple years ago and was always great to read up on everyone's cool finds of the year.My best find of this year was that i actually had a floor in one of my storage barns after moving skids of Nos parts, piles of used parts and sleds.

Happy new Years Everyone :canada: :usa: :letitsnow: !

For me I would say that i found Canada. Never been there before until this Fall but i found it to be very rich with Great and Wonderful People. My experiance was second to none and discoved many new Friends. Just cant say enough about the People................Was this thread supposed to be about sleds?.. If it was than a bunch of Liquidator stuff followed me back. Thanks Canada :canada:

This year for me has been a pretty good year ! First on my list would be my 84 sportfire I snagged in WIS.This sled finished up my complete 84' lineup. Second on my list would def have to be my super cool 10/81 snowfire less than an HR from my house. The 3rd to make the list would prolly be the 2 84' snowfires I found in Mass. 1 of which I bought and the second being the consecutive number to mine and owned by a fellow board member. We are still working out the details but I have all intentions of buying it from him for my collection. ALong the way I have also found A very low mileage 80 LF 2 83 snowfires a couple sprintfires and 2 handfuls of 82 sportfires ! I think the greatest find in all is the guys here who actually care about you, your family and your well being.. It has taken me some time to realize that I can't save every sled and to stop trying . This sport to me is about having a blast enjoying life and the outdoors. Hats off to all of you I hope 2013 is the best year yet !

78' Cyclone, back lower pic. She'll be a nice match to my "John Deere Green" top pic. In my opinion the Cyclones were the easiest most bullet-proof sleds of all. :usa:

I thought my great find was my 74 JDX4 special, but with all the things I've found wrong I'm wondering... Probably my best find was the 1977 Massey Chinook in super great shape, but I also just picked up a 87 Skidoo Stratos for $150 that I sold a week later for $550 with only a set of spark plugs and a couple hours of work.

Sold quite a few sleds in 2012... Now to start buying again in 13!!

A few more NOS sachs 400 single parts, and a couple JD suits. Missed a 78 cc because I didn't get along with the owner and I am chasing a Moto Ski SM 793 around. Last owner I talked to is pretty sure it got wrote off and parted out but I have anouther name to call.

Mine was not a John Deere this year. My best find this year in 2012 has been a 1981 Arctic Cat Jag 4000 Long Track. They are just plain impossible to find. You can't even really find a picture of one on the internet much less finding one of your own!

One of the neat things about it is that the slide rail is not one continuous rail. The last third of the rail pivots up. I didn't notice this until I pulled it out of my pickup and dropped the back end on the ground only to see the last 1/3 of the suspension pivoted up into the tunnel and the rest hadn't even moved. Interesting...

I dug one up in Michigan. If you ever see one, snap it up. This is not mine but this is what they look like:

Even with relocating to TX, I had a few good finds this year...

First was the Triplefire, although she is just a custom LF with no factory connection I am looking forward to riding and updating it:

Second was another 78 Cross Country Liquifire from Justin Clack:

Third was an early build 82 Snowfire with much help from Greg Shuby-doo:

Plus a couple of very cool memoribilia finds with from Dave Wells and Brock:

But my best find was my new place in Texas complete with a 30X40 and a 20X40 Steel buildings with concrete floors...

It came barely in 2012 (Dec.30th) but it was the best $100 spent in 2012.
