Re: Decal Rabbit
What a beautiful race sled!! Anyone know who it belongs to???? Seriously, if you look above the right ski you'll see what really caused me grief and let to not finishing that day. I know a lot of you want the fiberglass/ABS pans for your 340/S so perhaps you see why I'm so freaking adamant about using an aluminum belly pan.jdsledsrgr8 wrote:Does anyone have a good picture and dimensions of the running rabbit decal for I belive carbine company? Great. I will look again on Franks new website but now that I think of it, I have never seen it on there.
Plus to get a hold of Frank is pretty tough.

Re: Decal Rabbit
Make sure that you get the right one for the year you want. There were different decals every year. They were all similar, but it was usually something very little different about them. Jesse would be able to tell you because he makes then all.

I talked to Jesse "moves like Babler" today. If you are going to Waconia he will be there, or I am sure he would ship them.

In my 340/s documents, I thought I read were Deere gave all the 340/s owners a free upgrade to the glass belly pan. While still not as tough as aluminum, it should have been way stronger than the original, very brittle ABS. Not sure if that pan would have been available before the I-500, but I was assuming so. I know keeping Bob in line was a full time job, but I was wondering why you raced with the factory pan?
Looking forward to seeing you guys at the HOF. Well, you anyway. Maybe Bob too, LOL! By then we will know if I beat your 8 mile prediction too...

Guys,
I still love that "Damn fake rabbit oil" quote from RJC! Makes me chuckle everytime. And, Jesse deffinately knows all the defferences of those stickers.

Re: Decal Rabbit
I do not recall a replacement belly pan in time for the race but there were several modifications suggested to the first gen pan. Which we did. I just attached a picture of race prep on the tunnel/belly pan. Note the metal reinforcement on the front of the pan. Additionally there was reinforcement under the chaincase. That's all I can remember for now. About the rabbit decal, I distinctly remember Mr. Carlson removing the decals from ETD sleds but as an independent, had I done good I would have hated to miss the contingency money.

Re: Decal Rabbit
A trick we used ( but wasn't necessary) was installing a "trap" door under the engine in the event we needed to adjust the engine or deal with loose motor mount/base bolts. The #9 decals on the tool box lid were from either the 73 or 74 race.

Re: Decal Rabbit
Yup.....glass pans were available for the 500, # 54 has its original glass pan also reinforced.
