That is a great story of a great ride. Thanks for sharing and in such detail. Love it.

Hey Eric, that cemetery between the bridge and the Difters garage is where my great-grandparnets rest.

Great photos and story.

Todd, I went in and edited the blog entry, as my paternal great grandparents land was a stones throw away from where I passed, dad has the 1923 plat of Culdrum township and showed me where his grandparents property was, and I must have ridden right past it.

Thanks for going through the Deere for me back in '09, finally got to really put it to the test, I ended up airborn more than once on that ungroomed route, and a Deere always lands on it's feet! Too bad it once again had to be put to rest in the shed, until I can return again.

Nice job! I like that. Wish the riding was that nice around here! I am hesitant to take my JDX out due to its small tank. How do you fill yours and mix it on the trail? I'm suprised you were able to move through a foot of snow! Mine just burries. At any rate you look like you had a blast!

It did just fine on Sunday in the foot of loose, fresh snow. I used 3 1/2 gallons on the 50 mile ride, about half the route was groomed and I ran about 20-30mph depending on trail conditions. On the way home, the path was groomed and I knew the route so I hammered 'er a bit. The 30has I think a 6 gallon tank, what's your JDX hold?

Mine has the metal tank that holds 5 gallons. Also have a 440 and she's pretty thirst! When I'm on it anyways haha. Wish they sold premix at the pump! I'd love to have a foot of fresh powder!

I just pumped in 2.5 gallons of 91 octane non=ethanol and put in 8oz of oil. Didn't know they made an X8 in '73.

Bob, your X8 ought to run close to 80 miles on a tank of gas. ( At least my 74 will ) How far do you want to go?
