77 Cyclone 340 Mod. No.
I got the 77 cylcone 340 home today and started to clean it up and when I looked at the Mod. No. it is stamped as clear as can be J34FC 070221 Date of Mfg. 07-76. I checked in the serial no. section and noticed that there is NO FC. It is not a FG but a FC does anyone know what might of happened to cause this as far as a mod's. or such? Thanks. Mailman

The "F" in the model number should mean fan cooled, as for the C, I can't explain that as the last letter normally indicates the year, and a C should be a 1974, but the Cyclone wasn't in production in 74.

Did anyone have an answer for Mailman's question because I'm trying to identify what appears to be a 76 440 Cyclone with a serial number of J44FC070758M. Looking to find out the significance of the "C". Don

Ken that's exactly what I thought when my son called me with the SN. I looked at it myself and there's no mistaking the "C" for "G". Horicon Joe has more information about the situation but trust me don't get excited about the "C" being a special sled, it's not. Oh, I thought the SN plates were more rear mounted but the plate on this sled is on the right but up front and the build date has been obliterated, I assume by a boot. Don
