440 Liquifire no start

Post by ziebellski »

I got my '77 LF 440 running yesterday for the first time since the summer. I just installed the Hewtech Power Pak. Yesterday it ran great, like it should. Today, I had to pick up and drag the machine around in its parking spot, then I tried to start it but it wouldn't fire. I'm wondering if I "flooded" it somehow by shaking it up while I moved it around? I've got spark and there's fuel in the lines, and the plugs were wet. I removed the plugs, pushed some of the fuel out, then installed new plugs. Still no fire.
Any thoughts on what I should check? I'm thinking choke cable adjustment for starters.

How much fuel was pushed out? If it seemed like a lot, the you might be having a seal problem with the float needle and seat. This is allowing your carb to fill the crank case with fuel. Maybe pull the carbs and check them out.

Actually, I couldn't see much for fuel come out of the spark plug holes.
