86? Kitty kat

Post by fastl82vette »

Picked up a kitty kat tonight for $150 (and about $30 in gas!) I'm told it ran a couple years ago, but when he tried getting it running last winter it had no spark. It has the Suzuki motor. Where should I start?? Btw he also had a really nice 90 or 91 ac jag 440 with about 2200 miles he was asking me if I knew what it was worth. He said he would probably start at 600 on it.

Kill switch on the handlebars or the tether switch would be a good place to start.

Parts are still available from CAT as they basicly did not change the model for 20 years.

Well, I didn't have to do much and it is running on spray!!! Who ever looked at it must not have known what they were doing. I pulled the console back and the plug was pulled off of the key switch and it had a jumper wire hooked in it... No spark... Pull out the jumper wire, plug it back into the key switch. Make sure the kill switch is on and we have spark!!! :beers; it ain't the prettiest thing but the kids should have tons of fun on it. I don't know what happened to the hood but it looks like someone used a harsh chemical to clean it and it looks bleached.

Does anyone know if the the model year on ac is like John Deere? This was made in mid 86. Does that make it an 86 or 87??

First two numbers of the serial number would be the model year.
