need help id'ing my project

Post by repira01 »

I thought it was a 1974 JDX6 but the serial # shows its a 1974 JDX4. Any ideas? The decals say JDX6 400cc. I want to start getting parts to rebuild it. Thanks

I'm following Harley here. There is a possibility that an engine switch was made. Get the info off of the engine tag.

decal says 400cc. But the serial # on the tunnel would suggest its a 340. Its a CCW I'll run out to the barn to take a pic and post it

KEC-400/22 sr no. 6206462. the pic file is too large so it wont let me upload it. so thats the 400cc out of a jdx6. do you guys think this was an error from the factory? or did somebody go to the trouble to change the engine/drivetrain and all the decals?

Unless I'm wrong, it has a 75 hood on it. So, yes, it could be a modified sled all the way around.

thanks. thats what i was afraid of. cause it has the non-metal gas tank from a 75, but the number on the tunnel says its a 74. so getting parts is gonna be confusing for me

That hood is pretty epic.

The tunnel is steel and not aluminum, right? That would confirm it was a JDX4 tunnel and that the serial number is correct. Like Bob said, the hood is a '75 and so is the bumper. The skis are correct for '74.

Almost looks like a Yamaha theme on the hood.

I would keep it as is. Nice work by someone.
