dator pain-t

Post by lwb140 »

ok all I know this has been discussed 1000 times etc . I went to pick up my dator from the body shop the other day and much to my dismay it had been sprayed with regular jd green , the quart of paint I took him was later found under the workbench on its side where it had clearly been for a LONG TIME . anyway so while im at this im revisiting the color .btw tractor paint isn't very close . the xx188x number listed here doesn't seem to work for any retailer in a 30 mile radius of 47955 , does anyone have a code or recipe for dator green they are willing to share , ive got a color that was "scanned " off of an old hood that is close I can use but I think its a little brighter but will work worse case thanks everyone wade

Wade , I do have a Guy up here that does all our Dator paints and does a great job and an excellent match. He is a member here but don't think he posts much. I will shoot you a pm and just let him know you received the contact info from me. I don't have any decal sets left so you might have to get from that other guy.

joe I wasn't really mad , the situation was so stupid I knew it could only get better , he shot some mean green for me and turned out perfect , seems he let his son handle this project while he was out for the weekend , he is third generation collision repair here local ,so it seems like its going to work out fine , dad was embarrassed when we pealed back the rubber grip back on the tunnel that was supposed to have been removed to see the dator green scream out , then when we found my paint under the workbench where it had fallen off and been collecting dust for about a year iced it

chuck thanks for the help ,ill be in touch wade

I know it's not necessarily good, but it still might be fun to see a picture of this work.

If you have not found a formula yet i will try to dig mine out. It is hand matched ppg using pearl instead of metal flake there are others here who have used it.
Thanks,
Ted
