my son has a 83 440 jd liq and 79 invader he is wondering if the engines are the same and if it would harm them to run pre mix and delete the oil injection by just pugging off the oil line nipples someone told me that a line goes to the center crank bearings and he would not get enough oil to them if running pre mix only any answers on this? and maybe the oil injection gear set up might be different on the invader 440 liq

The engines are very similar. The Invader has different heads than the LF. The 83 LF ignition is a better setup if it is still the HSR system. As far as oil injection goes, there is a labyrinth seal in the center section of the crank that needs oil supplied to it. A popular option is to run the two lines for the cylinders and tee them back into the infeed line for the pump. Then you plug off the injection nozzles for the cylinders and run 50:1 pre-mix.
