Guilty!! I have two young kids and not a lot of garage time. I haven't touched the sprintfire.

It's snowing like crazy here. I can still drive it but my XC 600 needs a new track that I have. The 96 XCR 440 SP needs the carbs cleaned. The 95 XCR 440 SP has a PTO bearing out. My 76 440 Liquifire needs the track installed and is in pieces. 77 Liquifire 440 is in pieces. My Polaris ATV is in pieces. My garage is a disaster. And I have about 10 orders for parts I need to do. For sure I'm a last minute wrencher. :bonk:

Don't sweat it Duane. That 340/s of mine that your useing don't be afraid to drive it. It's super tough and you can't hurt it. It has 2 year old gas and may require a fresh tank and some sea foam. But feel free to ride the snot out of it

Thanks Chuck, it's been great having your 340/s. I've been so busy with everything else I haven't got as far on mine as I'd like. I've got appointments set up for bead blasting and sand blasting. The paint shop for 3 weeks from now and powder coating too. I've got a friend who does motors for vintage ovals and he said to bring the motor over anytime. I'm hoping to have mine together in about six weeks or less hopefully. If you need yours back sooner I'll bring it back. I did buy a parts manual so I should be ok. :letitsnow:

I took the 96 XCR 440 SP for a spin tonight. I ran Stabil through it but didn't drain the carbs. I put some new premium in and Sea Foam but it's running like crap so I'm cleaning the carbs. We got about 4" of packy wet snow today.

Took the XC 600 for a spin today. It rained instead of the snow they forcasted. Well, I guess I have time now to get some sleds going.

I enjoy wrenching all year. Lately time has been short however so things have been moving slower than normal. Just finished up clutching, gearing, V-Force reeds, pipes, water pump rebuild, studding, jetting and general maintenance on a 1999 Arctic Cat Thundercat I picked up with 1100 miles. Can't wait to pull the trigger on that thing! I have a mid year release 1992 Polaris XLT about 3/4 done and a 1984 Sprintfire near completion as well. Still love the Sprints after all this time!

Hard to get motivated to wrench on the sleds when its 75,sunny and the fishing boat and poles are looking real good after a long U.P. winter!! But also have a buddy with a nice wood heated workshop with old Snow-Trail Twisters and Kawasaki's. So when the wind and snow is REALLY blowing and you dont want to ride makes for a nice day wrenching and B.S. ing.

While I usually have something sled related going on year round. I do most of my repairs and improvements in the fall early winter.
Old sleds are hours of entertainment.... then you get to ride them for a little bit.
