1980 liquifire exhaust question

I am missing the straps- part number m67661, on my exhaust. can anyone tell me what material they are made from and thickness, or are they necessary? not sure of their purpose- was thinking either vibration dampener or heat barrier.

1inch wide, 1.5 long, 1/2 thick, 3/8 hole in center, and appear to be a fairly high durometer silicone based material.
