JDX brake band options...other than Deere?

Post by kentuckydiesel »

I need a new brake band for my JDX8. Checked deere...looks like they want $65-$70. Yea right.

So, I believe the JDX 8 has a 4" or 4 1/4" drum. Well...so does nearly every go cart in the world. There are all sizes, widths, and shapes available....for around $15.

Has anyone gone this route, and if so, did you find one that worked well?

Thanks,
Phillip

YEA I DID ON MY 800. BOUGHT THE BAND FROM DEERE,AND COULDNT USE IT. MEASURED THE TICKNESS OF THE BRAKE MATERAL AND HAD MY OLD RELINED,THERES A PARTS STOR IN MY TOWN THAT RELINES SEMI BRAKES HE WAS ABLE TO FIND MATERAL AND BONDED IT TO MY OLD STRAP ,WORKS PERFECT,I NTHINK HE CHARGED ME $20-25 AND I EVEN STRIPED WHAT WAS LEFT OF THE OLD LINING AND SAND BLASTED THE STRAP. HOPE THIS HELPS

Interesting thing is, It's not my lining that's bad...the band itself rusted in half, yet there is barely any surface rust on any part of the sled. Not even any rust in the steel tank. Strange.
