Here's a post from the Snowmobile Hall of Fame's Facebook page. Sorry to make this announcement but want to thank my fellow committee members, Tom Otte, Tom White, and Pat Shaffer for trying so hard to make this event happen. It is my (MY) hope that should Brian try the Winnipeg-Willmar route again next year through Alexandria that we can hold our event. The cancellation is simply because of a lack of snow. Brian Nelson and USXC tried very hard to include us but moving our event at this time to TRF just isn't possible.
From Facebook: It is with regret that the Snowmobile Hall of Fame has to inform our followers that the planned event that was scheduled in conjunction with the Winnipeg 500 cross country race has been cancelled due to low snow conditions which prompted a change in location for the finish of the race. These changes have made having our event logistically not possible. The race has not been cancelled and the Snowmobile Hall of Fame wishes the best to all those participating. We will be working on other venues in the future that will involve and recognize those who have contributed to the sport of Snowmobiling and Snowmobile Racing.

Re: Alexandria Event Cancelled
Don,
Sorry to hear the weather will not co-operate this year for the I-500 tribute. I can only imagine the effort the committe put into the event.
On the brighter side, the Ride with the Champs will be a great event with the induction of cross country legends Herb Howe and Bob Enns.
See you there,
-Joe

Joe is absolutely correct we need to focus on the 32nd Annual Ride With The Champs! Should be a great time. Bob, Marna, and myself are going up a day early to try to get some recreational riding in. Sounds like the Northwoods snow conditions are great let's hope they stay that way. Almost every year there are cancellations at the Whitetail Lodge so make sure you're on the waiting list if a room opens up. Excited to see everyone there and to see four legends be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Especially this one.

Don, I assumed you would catch on eventually, LOL!WinnipegStPaul9 wrote:Joe is absolutely correct...
Really though, with three stars of Cross Country racing being inducted this year, the RWC should draw many of the CC legends this year. I have no doubt the Ride with the Champs will be another great time at the Hall of Fame.
Really looking forward to Bob's well earned induction in addition to Herb Howe, the late, great Pat Mach, and Mark Zelich.
