Moms old 78 Spitfire

Here is the first shot of the ol' girl after I showed it to my kids. They seem excited to help get it usable again.

I can understand, it'll be a great sled for them to ride.

My daughter helped pull the engine out to drop off for new seals and an inspection early this morning before our adventures began. Now she wants to wake up early again to swal the handle bar assembly too! The track may work for awhile yet, not sure. We are hoping to get the engine back before we leave so the kids can hear it for the first time.

Small progress, woke up early and my daughter was on the couch dressed and waiting to help. Swapped steering columns and broken controls, lubed cables and set belt gaurd in place for now to not lose it. Are the two 1/4 inch bolts for the gaurd at the front end machine or sheet metal through the front engine brace? I know they don't use nuts on them.
