Missing VIN/Serial number on Liquifire

Post by Deleted User »

Hi,
I have a 1981 Liquifire. I know this because that's what the registration says, however there is no serial number on the sled, at least not in the normal spot on the tunnel. The serial number plate is there, but it is blank!
First off, any ideas why? One theory is that the tunnel may have been changed at some point, but it sure doesn't look like it.

Next, any other place I can find the serial number on the sled?

Thanks

It is a replacement tunnel. I have seen these and the dealer was supposed to
re stamp or etch the old numbers on the new tunnel. However it could have been
done after Deere got out. That is the only place I am
aware of for a number on the sled.
Does your registration have the number? If so, I might be able to tell you
if the dealer did any work on it.

Hi,

The only numbers I see on the registrationare as follows:

J34AL190944M

AND

455370SB

They don't look like Vin numbers to me.....

Thanks for any help you can give me

That first one is it, but the number doesen't match the sled, unless we have an error on our serial number listing: http://members.tripod.com/%7EJoe2000/serial.html

That number is for an '82 Spitfire. If our listing is wrong someone please correct Joe & I.

I double checked, and that is the vin on the registration. I guess it could be wrong, and I have no way of proving it without a vin on the sled....
The registration says 440 on the engine size, and says it is a 1981 John Deere.

Any ideas???
