electric start question
Just a quick question for any polaris fans out there. I just got done putting in an electric start kit for my dads polaris. We had to get a new clutch since the old one didn't have the holes to mount the gear for the starter gear. With the new clutch on the motor barely pulls over and i get a very weak spark. Put on the old clutch and it pull over and starts great. I figure that the new clutch is too big for the taper and goin too far onto the crank. I found on dennis kirk that there is a tapered bushing to adapt a 30mm crank to a 35mm clutch. Where do i measure on the crank to find out what size. Also i noticed that with the new cluch the alignment is way off. Is this busing a safe way to go? I don't want to mess up a crank. Or am i better off finding a different clutch?? We just got some freash snow on the ground and i have yet to put some tracks in it. Thanks for any help.

electric start question
crankshaft size is actually easy to figure out... look at the engine seal that side with clutch off read the numbers...
ie 10-30-62 is for a 30mm crank....10-35-62 is 35mm crank. and so on
if you have the wrong clutch for your sled its the wrong clutch don't try to make it fit just trade it at used sled parts place for a correct one.
