Just got back from a 2 hour round trip to Ogilvie and back. Picked up an '82 Sporty to use for its track and suspension in the Trailfire. This sled has the most interesting handlebars I've ever seen. It's hiding under an '81 Liquifire hood with chrome mirrors. Overall, it's got a bulk of the parts I need.
I thought I was buying an '80 Sporty for $50. When I pulled up, I saw the extra set of idlers and got a little hopeful. When I saw the tunnel stripes, I had to contain myself a little before getting out of the truck. The motor is in pieces and I will be donating the crank to J-Rome since Sporty crank parts are in demand and I have no intention of putting this Humpty Dumpty back together again. The guy really didn't want a sled this old and was planning on scrapping it soon. Glad I could save another '82 chassis from the crusher.
