Liquifire Rear Arms, Any Interest?

Liquifire Rear Arms, Any Interest?
As most who have owned an 80's Liquifire know, the rear arm cross shaft is the most commonly griped about part in the skid. I'm loaning an arm to a guy at work to remove my cross shaft by any means necessary and to get me a quote on making a jig and part cost. He wants to make it stronger and less susceptible to bending if he can. My question is what are we willing to pay for an equal or better repop? I know there are times I'd give my left Fisher honey roasted peanut for a rear arm in working condition so I could move on with my life. I'd like to provide him with a price to shoot for to see if he can do it. I would think $65 wouldn't be bad for something that has caused many a Deere owner to buy another sled or skid in hopes of getting an arm he can separate the cross shaft from. Let me know your thoughts on price. (I've had arms with the half moons on the channel iron portions. These would be without those.)

I would think that was reasonable. Would be nice to be able to get an updated rear arm

I was thinking the same thing. Deere put one on the track drive bearing opposite the chaincase for '83 but never on the swing arms.

He has the part in hand. I'm not sure how long a quote will take him. Grease fitting shouldn't be a problem.

It's a good idea, I made one from a piece of pipe and the original angle iron and then reinforced it. The biggest challenge I had was getting the bore in the pipe back perfect after welding the angles and slugs for grease zeros back on. Hopefully he can do it for a reasonable cost. Jim

If you end up doing it you may as well make a version with the long arm for the Trail/Sport/Liquifire Deep Snow Kit as well. Only problem there is some need the idler wheel tabs and some don't.

Could the tabs not be put on them all? they would only be used if needed. I know I would be using the tabs if they were there. I have added tabs to switch locations of the wheels

Considering that it costs $20 in muriatic acid alone just to eat the aluminum shaft out, I think that's a fair price, the grease fitting would be nice
