Strut IFS Liquifire now at the Snowmobile Hall of Fame

Post by Matt »

Big news yesterday at the Snowmobile Hall of Fame: Before the Loose Lugnutz/Cameron Amber Memorial Poker Run and Bogie Bash on Friday, a new John Deere was unveiled at the Hall - One of the factory John Deere Liquifires with IFS strut suspension. This has been donated to the hall by Polaris! It was previously seen at the Waconia "Year of the Deere" event 6 years ago, but went back into storage after that. Here are a few photos that have been posted to Facebook from yesterday:

If you're not familiar with the sled, Joe Rainville had made a video back at Waconia:

Very cool of Polaris to donate it to the hall of fame , no one can enjoy it stuck in a semi trailer. It is a piece of Jd snowmobile history .

So what's the deal with the muffler/hood clearance? The pics under the Prototypes section of JDsleds.com show hoods closed. Is the clearance issue near the headlight/air intake area?

There are open hood pictures in that section supposedly taken in the back lot at Polaris. The hood on this machine looks askance because it has front end damage that was not evident in the picture taken shortly after the buyout.
