Trailfire rubber track conversion

Post by buckeyetrailfire »

I am in the middle of a liquidfire track conversion on 80 trailfire. I am using a liquidfire track skid and drivers and traifire rear arm . I have read all the previous posts about using the tunnel mounted upper trailfire idlers and shaft instead of welding the rear tabs on the trailfire rear arm and using liquidfire idlers but no one has reported their findings after putting some miles on . For those that have used the trailfire upper idlers could you let me know what you have discovered going this route pros and cons.

Thanks,

Mark

The biggest problem I had going this route was that the LF track is slightly shorter than the TF track. This caused the clips to rub on the back of the skid behind the rear idlers even when the track was tensioned. The only way I was able to make it work was to weld on the tabs and use the LF upper idlers instead of the cross shaft.
