Steve Burdick from NH would probably be the person to contact for Alouette info. He has a very nice collection of them, and many other brands. Go to the virtual museum, he has both a Super Brute & a Phazer.

1974 Alouette Super Brute 440
Alouttes were made in Quebec, and were very popular there, and had a good following out here in western Canada. Gilles and brother Jacques Villeneuve piloted there sno-pro sleds in 73,74,75(?) Gilles won Worlds Champioship in 74 on a 650 Super Aloutte, the Super Brutes were fashioned on them somewhat. They were built for 2 or 3 years and came in free air and later in liquids, nice quick little sleds. Rupp did buy them out in about 76 ,and the Super Brute became a rebadged Nitro.Alouette also produced a twin tracker with IFS in 74, google it ,it's realy cool. The Villeneuve bros went on to Skiruole (Quebec based company)where they developed and drove an IFS racer for 76.Gilles went on to race Formula 1 for Farrari and was killed in a crash. Jacques drove for Kawasaki in 77 and later for Skidoo, apparantley he has signed on to drive a few races this year, and is sponsored by a Saskatchewan businenssman ,whom happens to be a very avid sled collector.
