1982-84 Sprintfire/Liquifire HSR CDI/Coil Combo

So it's been discussed I'm sure, I just don't know if anyone has actually implemented the test. Well before I put away the 84 Sprintfire. I had some 82-84 Liquifire CDI boxes lying around, and being that they looked identical other than the plug wire leads being slightly different lengths I wanted to try one on the sprintfire. After getting them swapped, the sprintfire fired up on the 2nd pull and idled and ran great! I drove it up into my woods without any issues. So they only theory I can say is they are interchangeable!

My only question is will it work the other way. One would think the hp differences and timing curve could be slightly different.

Sprintfire coil unit part number is AM55106; Liquifire coil unit part number is AM55416

I don't have my 82 or 84 liquifire up and running yet to try it the other way. But my thought is the part number is only different for the wire lead lengths as simple as that sounds. A true test would be to run them more both ways and check plugs. But all I can say is the Sprintfire ran great.
