KEC-440/21 Compression

Post by farleyjd400 »

I have been working on my sleds this month and most things have not gone well. long story short I have 2 KEC-440/21 motors and im trying to decide on which one to use for my JDX8 project. The 1st one is a running motor with 120 PSI on each cylinder. The 2nd is a motor that has been sitting inside for a long time and shows 140 PSI on one cylinder and 150 PSI on the other( just barely with in 10% of each other). I will be doing both crank seals on whatever motor i use, and even thought about just doing a re-ring and fresh gaskets on one of them if i can find rings. Any opinions on which motor to use based on compression. Is the 10 PSI difference not a big deal on the higher compression motor?

Thanks Andy
